This summer, DJI was having a video contest. The winners would win a new Phantom. This was my entry into the contest. It’s a montage of clips from around Michigan.
A sunset flight from Solanus Mission Beach to end a perfect day in Petoskey, MI.
I’ve always wanted to fly my quad down the road while following it in the car. Well up north on dirt roads this is much easier done that down here in the city. This flight was about 1.5-2 miles. It was pretty cool. No, I did not drive and fly at the same time. My wife drove while I road shotgun and flew.
Official first day of summer was a bit overcast, but hey, it was the first day, so it deserved a little flight around the cottage.
This flight was on my previous quad. It was the inaugural flight of my first brushless camera gimbal. A brushless gimbal uses brushless servo motors to stabilize the camera. This is a 2 axis gimbal, so roll and pitch are stabilized, but not yaw. It is VERY cool technology. I can’t wait till 3 axis gimbals start coming out.
